Dr Sofia Feloni obtained her degree in Medicine of the University of Athens in 2006 and the Master in Gastroenterology of the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium in 2014. This was followed by a one-year fellowship in Hepatology in the Montreal University Hospital Center in Canada. She pursued her professional activity in the “La Providence” Hospital in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, for about 4 years, until 2020 when she decided to return to Greece and be part of the medical team of the Mediterraneo Hospital.
She has participated in the development of the colorectal cancer screening program of the cantons of Neuchâtel and Jura in Switzerland. She is the author of papers dedicated to liver disease in Belgian scientific reviews and has presented various works at continuing medical education courses and conferences in Belgium and Switzerland.
Apart from her specialisation in liver disease and practising basic endoscopic techniques, she has also developed an interest in functional gastrointestinal disorders and in inflammatory bowel disease.
La Dre Sofia Feloni a obtenu son diplôme de Médecine à l’Université d’Athènes en 2006. En 2014, elle a obtenu son Master Complémentaire en Gastroentérologie à l’Université Catholique de Louvain en Belgique avant de suivre un Fellowship en vue d’une spécialisation en Hépatologie au Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montréal. Elle a travaillé au département de gastro-entérologie de l’Hôpital de La Providence à Neuchâtel (Suisse) depuis 2016 jusqu’au 2020 et avant son retour en Grèce et son intégration à l’équipe médicale de l’Hôpital Mediterraneo.
Elle a participé au développement du Programme de Dépistage du Cancer du Côlon pour les cantons de Neuchâtel et du Jura en Suisse. Elle a présenté plusieurs travaux scientifiques à des revues belges et à des congrès et réunions de formation continue en Belgique et en Suisse.
Hormis sa spécialisation en hépatologie et la pratique de différentes techniques endoscopiques, elle est aussi intéressée à la prise en charge des troubles fonctionnels digestifs et des maladies inflammatoires chroniques idiopathiques.
